Addesso Architecture is again working with Autonomy as part of the San Francisco CA., and Cambridge U.K. based computer software company, and has been selected to design the new regional offices. The company is currently the second largest pure software company in Europe and has offices worldwide. Autonomy's position as the market leader is widely recognized by leading industry analysts, with clients ranging from governments to fortune 500 companies to academic institutions.
The new regional offices will be located in the New York Times Building, located in the new Times Square area, a short distance from their previous location in midtown Manhattan. The New York Times building has been heralded as the most significant new building to be added to the New York City skyline in decades. The building houses 1.6 million square feet of class ‘A’ office space, with street level retail areas.
Addesso Architecture, based in Midland Park, N.J., specializing in complete project consulting, provided the services for the project design, furniture procurement, project management, technology and security system services selection for the corporate fit-out, and will be working with the Forest City Ratner the landlord, First New York Partners the building management, and R. P. Brennan the construction company to complete the project in a shortened timetable. Addesso Architecture will also be overseeing the move of existing operations including furniture to be utilized in the new space, and the disposition of existing furniture and equipment that cannot be utilized in the new offices.
Autonomy’s previous facility consisted of perimeter offices an interior field of workstations constructed to provide each member of the office with their own workspace. The company decided to move to a hoteling- style office environment, eliminating the need for a multitude of workstations and offices that remained vacant a vast majority of the time. The new space consist of state of the art presentation spaces, with audio visual presentation capabilities, with a minimum number of private offices, “drop-in” workstations, conference and work rooms. The facility is designed to give the company the most flexibility in housing the personnel, while providing meeting space that was so sorely needed. The building design, in conjunction with the wide use of glass for the interior provides a generous amount of light within the entire space. The use of occupancy sensors control the lighting system and reduce the need of electricity without the human control. The use of a pin point control heating and cooling system gives each space greater comfort without sacrificing efficiency.
