Windsor, VT, United States, 2009/01/26 - Simon Pearce Inc. announces plans to close its San Francisco store and strengthen retail partnerships with high-end Bay Area retailers.

Simon Pearce Inc., a Vermont-based designer and producer of hand blown glass and handmade pottery, has announced plans to close its retail location located on Fillmore Street in San Francisco this coming February 15, 2009. To facilitate the closing, the store is offering 50% savings on Simon Pearce pottery designs and fine home accents and 25% savings on a selection of its hand blown glass designs. This move is part of the company’s efforts to strengthen its retail partnerships with high-end retailers in the Bay Area.
“In particular, Gump's and Columbine are two of several other high end Bay Area stores that have been long time retail partners with Simon Pearce and understand the unique, handcrafted quality the company is known for. Both stores have dedicated and knowledgeable teams who will continue offering the service level that our customers have experienced in our own stores,” said Bruce Holloway, director of wholesale and corporate sales.
“This is obviously a difficult decision, but we’re confident that further strengthening our partnerships with select high-end retailers in the Bay Area will continue to offer Simon Pearce customers a great retail experience,” said Rob Adams, president of Simon Pearce. Since joining the company in August 2008, Adams has steered the company towards a more comprehensive and competitive retail and marketing strategy.
