The Forestweb U.S. Forest Products stock index is a comprehensive index containing the stocks of all publicly-held forest products-related companies headquartered in the United States that trade on the New York Stock Exchange. Such companies include forestry, packaging and paper. The index is calculated using a market capitalization approach similar to the S&P 500.
The five biggest companies in the Forestweb Stock Index by annual revenue, based on 3rd quarter earnings 2008, are: International Paper ($6.8B), Kimberly-Clark ($5.0B), Weyerhaeuser ($2.6B), Smurfit-Stone ($1.9B) and MeadWestvaco ($1.8B).
