This week at the 2008 Super Computing Conference, exhibitor Digi-Data Corporation (Booth #3120) demonstrates the new G Series T-4000, the first model in the company’s new Continuum storage family. Digi-Data’s T-4000 is a low cost, easy to implement and manage solution offering a high port count, high bandwidth, and scalable RAID storage ideal for today’s high performance storage environments. Combining energy management, one-touch data movement and streamlined expandability, the G Series controller is ideal for nanoscience, biotechnology, climate research, astrophysics, chemistry, fusion research, drug research, homeland defense, nuclear technologies and numerous other scientific applications.
A small, affordable yet powerful SAN, the T-4000 supports as many as four-concurrent streams of data, providing as many as four users with the ability to share files without a switch using TigerTechnology’s metaSAN to ensure cross-platform workgroup collaboration.
"The Continuum G Series T-4000 delivers the scalable capacity, I/O performance and reliability that today’s high performance computing environments must have by offering 16 Fibre Channel ports per controller chassis, dual high-speed busses, full volume copy technology and nearly a PB of storage addressability,” said Ken Willis, Vice President of Engineering and CTO of Digi-Data. “Integrating metaSAN's user-friendly file-level sharing capability gives T-4000 users exceptional flexibility beyond that of more common volume-level based sharing that can be linked to serious workflow restrictions.”
The T-4000’s Disk Power Management system (DPM) is flexible enough to range from “all on” to nearly “all off,” making it the only clustered RAID system on the market that can minimize energy consumption, yet deliver full performance on demand.
SC Conference attendees can see the Continuum G Series T-4000 and other rich media solutions at the Digi Data Booth #3120.
