The ‘Card programme of the year award’ recognised Reward’s work with sports retailer JJB. The programme used Reward’s unique ‘Passion Loyalty’ programme to increase both spend and footfall amongst a diverse group of consumers. By offering consumers rewards that they are passionate about, Reward was able to build interest in JJB sportswear and communicate with consumers directly with bespoke promotional and marketing information. Innovative use of control groups, targeted direct marketing and advanced use of customer data further contributed to the success of the programme.
Reward was also named as a finalist in the ‘Best use of technology in hospitality and leisure’ category for the development of Tottenham Hotspur’s ‘Club Cash’ loyalty programme a ‘world first’ innovative solution, whereby members can earn cash back to spend within Tottenham Hotspur retail outlets.
Gavin Dein, Founder and CEO of Reward, commented: “The retail sector is having a tough time at the moment as shoppers try to save their cash. As a result many retailers have implemented loyalty programmes as a quick-fix and then felt confused when they haven’t worked properly. This is why it’s great to be recognised for the work we’re doing with both retailers and passion brands like Tottenham. If loyalty is ever going to work, retailers need to find out exactly what their customers want from a loyalty programme and deliver it. Otherwise they are merely throwing money down the drain.”
The Retail Systems Awards, which are in their third year, recognise excellence and innovation in the field of information technology within the UK retail sector.
