Dublin, Ireland, 2008/10/16 - In a strong show of confidence in the future of the Irish hotel sector Travelodge, the leading provider of budget accommodation and Ireland largest budget hotel operator, has announced ambitious plans to build a 400 bedroom Travelodge in Dublin City.

Planning permission is currently been sought to build a 400 bedroom Travelodge Hotel on Summerhill in the centre of Dublin 1. It is hoped that construction will commence in early 2009.

The development, measuring 12,713 sq m, will include a restaurant/dining room, bar and 33 basement car parking spaces. The designs have been submitted by planning consultants Tiros Resources and would see a structure rising from eight to 12 storeys built around a landscaped courtyard.

Speaking about the proposed hotel, Travelodge’s Managing Director Seamus McGowan said, “We are thrilled to announce plans to develop our largest Travelodge.
