Top Spanish companies, members of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in the Basque region are exploring the possibilities of establishing a presence in Dubai after a successful visit and tour of the Dubai Airport Free Zone, said a senior Free Zone official.
“The Dubai Airport Free Zone will be presenting the benefits of having an office at Dubai Airport Free Zone at the Second Faro International 2008 Congress to be held in San Sebastian, Spain from October 14 to 15,” said Jamal bin Marghoob, Deputy Sales Director of Dubai Airport Free Zone, who will be attending the congress to present the benefits of setting up branch offices of international companies in the Free Zone.
“The invitation for Dubai to make a presentation at Faro, was received after a tour of free zone facilities by representatives of the Gipuzkoa Chamber of Commerce in San Sebastian which more than 300 companies all members of the Chamber will attend the Congress” Mr. Bin Marghoob remarked.
Asier Barandiaran, Director of Gipuzkoa Chamber of Commerce in San Sebastian, said , “Traditionally San Sebastian has historic ties with Latin American countries, Spain is wishing to diversify and strengthen its presence in newly emerging economies in the Gulf, India and China. Dubai will be playing a prominent role as a trade hub to the GCC region and the Middle East, and later to India and China according to potential investors and businessmen from Spain,” said Mr. Bin Marghoob.
Recognizing the need to deal with international markets during a period where economies are increasingly embracing the policies of globalization, The Gipuzkoa Chamber has invited business experts and resource speakers from Dubai, Africa and China to explain business opportunities in their respective markets for the benefit of chamber members comprising of SMEs in Spain, noted Mr. Bin Marghoob.
Bin Marghoob reassured that, UAE and the Gulf region are experiencing rapid economic growth and an office presence at the Dubai Airport Free Zone, allows companies to take advantage of state-of-the art facilities and high quality of service which rank amongst the best in the world.
“The Dubai Airport Free Zone offers obvious savings in time and the world class facilities and services that we offer are a boon to companies located at the Dubai Airport Free Zone,” said Mr. Bin Marghoob.
