Dublin, Ireland, 2008/10/07 - Nypro Ireland secures contract to produce needle free syringe with US pharmaceutical company. Nypro Ireland redevelops medical manufacturing facilities in Bray, creating 150 new jobs in the next four years.

Nypro Ireland will today unveil its re-developed healthcare technology manufacturing facility in Bray, creating 150 jobs in the next four years. Nypro Ireland which already manufactures devices for the world’s leading healthcare companies will produce of a unique needle-free drug delivery device for a US pharmaceutical company for late 2008, which has already created 25 new jobs.
The facility which was opened in an official ceremony by Minister for European Affairs, Dick Roche, TD and Ted Lapres, Nypro’s global chief executive officer, represents an $10 million investment in Ireland, and will secure long-terms jobs in medical device manufacturing.
“The new facility and the recent announcement, is a vindication of our business,” said James O’Gorman, vice-president, managing director, Nypro Europe. “By specialising in the healthcare field, Nypro Ireland has positioned itself as one of the leading specialists in this field, created high value jobs as well as sustainable growth.”
Nypro Ireland started operations in 1980 and has invested over $10 million to focus on developing a highly valued export business with leading healthcare and personal care product manufacturers. It acts as a centre of excellence for support of proof of concept, initial prototyping, clinical trial support, validation and approval for the world’s regulatory authorities, such as the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
The continuing growth in this field has led the company to dedicate its new facility in Bray to being a purely healthcare manufacturing centre, operating state of the art cleanrooms and electric injection moulding machines, integrated into complex automated assembly lines.
Nypro Ireland now serves customers ranging from 3M Healthcare, Schering Plough, Bausch and Lomb, Baxter Healthcare, Ivax Pharmaceuticals, Boston Scientific, Pall Biomedical, Millipore, Unilever, Procter and Gamble, Microsoft, Hewlett Packard.
