Charles Rattray, will present a session titled “MapQuest™ for the Data Center – Baseline Your IT Estate: Inter-system Dependencies and Relationships of Servers, Software and Applications” at DataCenterDynamics Chicago 2008. Later in the day, Rattray will take part in a panel discussion titled “The Gordian Knot of Virtualization, Cloud Computing and the Virtual Data Center.” Rattray’s presentation will take place on Tuesday, September 16, at 9:10 am CDT in Hall 2. The panel discussion will follow at 3:50 pm in Hall 1.
In his keynote session, Rattray will discuss how leading enterprises are using Tideway Foundation to drive data center optimization and rationalization initiatives. Participants will learn how to use the intelligence garnered from application dependency mapping (ADM) to baseline their IT estate and successfully manage data center relocations, virtualization initiatives, software license optimization, and hardware upgrades. During the afternoon panel session, Rattray will join the Founder and Architect of Green M3 and the New Enterprise Data Center Chief Strategist of IBM Corp to examine the new challenges and benefits created for data center and IT infrastructure operators with the increased adoption of cloud computing and virtualization initiatives.
DataCenterDynamics Chicago is the Midwest’s largest gathering of IT facility professionals. Prior to Tideway, he held positions at Sun Microsystems [NASDAQ: JAVA], Wellington Underwriting and Manganese Bronze, overseeing projects in the investment banking, financial services, government, insurance, and engineering industries. Rattray has a Masters in Business Administration with distinction from Liverpool University, England, a post-graduate degree in Information Technology and a bachelor’s degree in Business from Stirling University, Scotland.
