Portland, OR, United States, 2008/07/29 - The American Barista Coffee School (ABC's) and BaristaExchange.com, a Website founded by Matt Milletto, ABC's director, achieved a media trifecta in the last two weeks of July: national newspaper, radio and television coverage.

In a flurry of coverage beginning on July 16, the Wall Street Journal, Fox Business News and National Public Radio have all devoted either column space, television time or radio time to the world's premier coffee business and barista training school and the specialty coffee industry's number one social networking Website.
“The past week has been very exciting, and it’s great to gain some national exposure for BaristaExchange.com and the American Barista & Coffee School," said Matt Milletto director of ABC's and founder of Barista Exchange.com. "It is great to be recognized for my hard work, and I am thrilled to reach so many people with my voice and passion for specialty coffee and our industry.”
In “The What, How and Why of Online Social Networks,” an NPR segment that aired on July 16, BaristaExchange.com was featured alongside the biggest and most popular social networking sites on the Internet: Facebook, MySpace and Linked in. In the feature story, BaristaExchange.com was examined as a prime example of a niche social network — one that caters to a particular group in society, in this instance, the specialty coffee industry.
In a full-length feature article in the July 22nd edition of the Wall Street Journal, entitled, "Networking Together: Firms Join Forces On Social Networks To Raise Profiles,” Mr. Milletto discusses the genesis of BaristaExchange.com and how small businesses and industries can benefit from the networking capabilities that a niche social network like BaristaExchange.com offers.
In his capacity as the director of the American Barista & Coffee School, Mr. Milletto was the specialty coffee expert in a Fox Business News segment on July 23rd. In the report, Mr. Milletto commented on the McDonald’s entry into the specialty coffee industry and its effect on Starbucks and other independents.
“The swarm of press that has descended on our company and Matt’s Website, BaristaExchange.com, in the past week has been unbelievable,” said Bruce Milletto, president of Bellissimo Coffee InfoGroup, founder of the American Barista & Coffee School and Matt Milletto's father. “It is wonderful to see the media understands the work we produce is timely, informational and essential to a healthy and growing specialty coffee industry."
Barista Exchange is the number one networking Website for working baristas, coffee enthusiasts, coffee roasters, farmers and coffee shop owners worldwide. The site features a Member Map, which allows members to pinpoint each other worldwide, an Events Calendar to post public and private events, a Chat function, a Review section on coffee equipment and home espresso machines, Jobs section, and Coffipedia, a dedicated Wikipedia Web site for the specialty coffee industry. Currently, BaristaExchange.com has more than 3,000 members from 130 countries.
Bellissimo Coffee InfoGroup is the specialty coffee industry's leading consulting company and well known as the producer of award-winning coffee training DVDs and the publisher of coffee business manuals. Bellissimo’s worldwide client list includes Fortune 500 companies as well as American and International entrepreneurs. As a result of the success of his company, Bruce Milletto is recognized by the press and the coffee industry internationally as “the voice of North America’s specialty coffee industry.” Bellissimo is also the parent company of The American Barista & Coffee School [ABC’s], the premier professional school in the U.S. devoted to domestic and international specialty coffee business education and hands-on barista training.
