The event, which takes place on July 8 and 9 at the Olympia Conference Centre, will investigate how organizations are successfully implementing their CMDB/CMS (Configuration Management Database/Configuration Management System) and identify the potential benefits. McEvoy’s session, CMDB – A Journey, Not a Destination: Best Practices from the Field, will take place on Tuesday, July 8, at 15.35.
In his presentation, McEvoy will highlight the importance of data accuracy and the critical role that automated discovery software plays in successful CMDB deployments. He will offer tips to help enterprises leverage application dependency mapping (ADM) tools to deliver a transparent and constantly updated view of their entire infrastructure in seconds. McEvoy will emphasize how enterprises can demonstrate measured benefits against the business case throughout each phase of the project and select the appropriate CMDB tool to meet process, people and organizational requirements.
A joint event organized by itSMF and the British Computing Society, the CMDB and CMS Conference will bring together managers and practitioners working across the service lifecycle in an open forum. The Conference will contain interactive workshops that allow users and practitioners to share ideas, knowledge and feedback concerning the CMDB/ CMS process and today’s associated challenges, as well as industry and vendor strategies to cope with them.
