George R. Namie has been hired by SCS Engineers as the senior project professional to oversee environmental compliance and permitting projects including process safety management, air quality permitting, NPDES permitting and stormwater pollution plans, SPCC plans, EPCRA and CERCLA compliance, and emergency action plans.
“SCS Engineers offer clients the best possible environmental solution by being proactive, fully understanding the DHEC regulations, and working with all parties to resolve issues with solutions that are right for everyone,” said Namie who has over 32 years experience in air quality services and environmental compliance.

Prior to joining SCS Engineers, Namie was the senior environmental scientist at Environmental Compliance and Permitting in Mt. Pleasant. He earned a bachelor’s degree in meteorology from Penn State University in State College, PA, and has written numerous articles, presented papers, participated in conferences, and conducted training to help educate professionals in the environmental compliance industry. Namie serves as a member of the Air and Waste Management and Carolinas Air Pollution Control Association.
Namie’s goal is to provide “permitting strategies by understanding the client’s process and how those changes affect their business. I will also strive to make sure our clients understand that we are looking out for their best interest and to serve as their partner.”
