Following its initial launch, WDT Wireless intends to offer value added services and features that are appealing to all ethnic cultures throughout the entire United States.
“WDT Wireless has been keeping ethnic communities in the United States connected to their overseas families through international long distance and Internet services since 1997,” said Scott Bryan, partner and director of marketing and sales for WDT. “We are pleased to now offer our customers the convenience of wireless calling with the affordability and customer service that only WDT provides.”
The WDT Wireless plans start as low as $14.99 per month and all plans offer free nights and weekends. Currently, rates are as low as 1 cent per minute to parts of Mexico, Poland, and other countries; and free to Moscow and St. Petersburg while competitors’ rates are as high as $2 per minute for similar calls. WDT is committed to customer service and features live operators that can fluently speak six or seven languages to serve the variety of ethnic groups that utilize WDT’s services.
Spanish Marketing, Inc., a full-service marketing firm devoted to helping companies target the foreign-born U.S. Hispanic market, will develop and orchestrate the product launch. SMI has negotiated one-year spokesperson agreements with boxing great, Julio Cesar Chavez and his son, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., for WDT Wireless starting Nov. 1. Under this agreement, WDT Wireless will offer the “Chavez Knockout Plans” that will allow customers to customize their calling plan bundled with low rates to Mexico and Latin America. In addition, SMI will also create and coordinate all advertising efforts, including print, radio and television.
