About RTBF
In 1935, Paul-Henri Spaak summarized very well the whole of the missions of the RTBF, the INR at the time: "A the time recreation and school!" The RTBF of course evolved/moved since but its finality remained the same one: to promote the cultural development, to be a source of further education and to offer gravitational entertainments. Information also appears among the responsibilities for public radio-télévision;. But this mission of information is not without conditions! Indeed, if the government were committed not exerting of preliminary censure, it requires in return a rigorous objectivity on behalf of the RTBF. For a few years, a new concept has appeared: the RTBF must also emphasize the inheritance of its community. The public radios and televisions thus reveal us, through their reports and emissions, the various facets of Wallonia and Brussels but also of Belgium, Europe and the world French-speaking community.
