Miami, FL, United States, 2007/08/14 - Vertilux's line of Vision solar screen fabrics for custom roller shades, roman shades, vertical blinds, and sliding panel window coverings has achieved Oeko-Tex Standard 100, the world's definitive ecological textile certification process.

Vertilux announced that its Vision line of solar screen fabrics meets the stringent international Oeko-Tex Standard 100. Oeko-Tex analyzes textile products and verifies that they are tested for banned or harmful substances, such as mercury, lead, and cyanide, and pose no risk to human health. The product’s lifecycle is also examined, from the production process through to disposal methods, to ensure that it does not adversely affect the environment at any point. The Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certification, a highly respected global eco-label, was obtained in partnership with Vertilux’s sister company in Spain.
“Through our world-wide network, we saw how influential the Oeko-Tex eco-label is in Europe and felt it was important to bring that same level of assurance to our customers in North America,” says Ben Kutell, VP Sales and Marketing at Vertilux. “We are committed to the ‘green’ building movement. We provide products that are made responsibly, with respect for the manufacturing employees, the environment, and ultimately, the people who live and work in buildings furnished with Vertilux Vision solar screen window coverings.”
Manfred Wentz, U. S. director for Oeko-Tex, confirms the eco-fabric trend in the building industry. “Demand for textiles that are free from banned or unwanted chemicals is rising exponentially. People don’t want harmful substances in any of their textile products, whether they use those products at home, at the office, or in any setting. The Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certification can provide that guarantee at all phases of the textile supply chain.”
In addition to being certified by Oeko-Tex Standard 100, Vertilux Vision solar screen fabrics are manufactured to the exacting standards of ISO-9001 certification. The resulting fabric is technically consistent, is resistant to fraying, will hang straight without bowing or cupping, and will roll up square on the roll. The Vertilux Vision solar screen fabrics are available in a wide array of colors and a large variety of woven patterns to complement any interior design project.
Vertilux will feature its Vision solar screen fabrics at the Home Design and Remodeling Show, August 31 to September 4 in Miami Beach and at IFAI Expo 2007, October 3-5 in Las Vegas.
