Charles Scott, President and CEO of Henry Medical Center will present “Henry Medical Center: A Hospital in Transition” to members of the Henry Council for Quality Growth at the next luncheon meeting Wednesday, July 18, at 11 am at Eagle’s Landing Country Club.
Scott’s presentation will discuss the transformation of Henry Medical Center from a relatively small community hospital to a much larger, full-service regional medical center that offers sophisticated, leading edge technology. Scott will focus on the opening of the new North Tower last fall and the featured services that Henry Medical Center now provides, as well as offer his vision for the future of Henry Medical Center.
Henry Medical Center is a 215-bed not-for-profit community hospital located in Stockbridge, Ga. Equipped to perform a wide range of medical services, the hospital provides medical care to more than 160,000 residents of one of the fastest growing counties in the nation, as well as the residents of adjoining counties.
“Charles provides new insight to smart growth issues in our community,” said Steve Cash, Executive Director of the Henry Council for Quality Growth. “A major component of smart growth is meeting the demand to provide medical services to an area’s residents. Henry Medical Center has grown from a rural hospital to a state-of-the-art medical center providing the much needed medical services to our county. Our Council members are anxious to learn about these new services of the hospital as well as Charles’ vision for the future.”
Scott, who has over 30 years of experience as a healthcare executive, including nine years as a president or chief executive officer, was appointed President and CEO at Henry Medical Center in March. Hospital management positions throughout his career include top posts as CEO for two Tenet-owned hospitals in Tampa, Fla., and a Hospital Corporation of America-owned hospital in Sarasota, Fla. He is a graduate of Princeton University and the University of Chicago’s Graduate School of Business.
Prior to joining Henry Medical Center, Scott served as President and CEO of Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe, La., where he was responsible for the overall leadership of the 242-bed, not-for-profit hospital.
The Council holds monthly meetings to educate members, local elected officials and business leaders on the Council’s pursuit of continued balanced and responsible growth.
The meeting, which is sponsored by FirstBank Financial Services, begins at 11 am for networking, with the luncheon following at 11:50 am. The luncheon is $20 for HCQG members and $35 for non-members.
