Ooma, Inc., a smart communications platform for businesses and consumers, today announced that Ooma has been named the top VoIP provider in the 2026 Spiceworks Voice of IT survey (spiceworks.com), based on feedback from 236 IT professionals evaluating leading standalone VoIP providers.
The survey examined the factors businesses should consider when choosing a VoIP provider, including overall satisfaction and likelihood to recommend, along with call quality, reliability, security and compliance, scalability, cost transparency, software integration and AI features.
Among the six providers with sufficient responses to be included in the results Ooma, Sangoma, Zoom, 3CX, RingCentral and Mitel Ooma emerged as the overall leader. Spiceworks concluded that “Ooma has a clear claim to the top spot,” adding that a strong strategy for making a VoIP decision would be to start with Ooma.
“The Voice of IT survey captures the experiences and opinions of IT professionals on the technologies and providers they rely on,” said Rich Brown, data analysis specialist at Spiceworks. “Ooma stood out among the standalone VoIP providers evaluated this year, earning a clear claim to the top spot.”
“Choosing the right communications technology can be challenging for any business, particularly small businesses that may not have dedicated IT resources,” said Jim Gustke, senior vice president of marketing at Ooma. “This recognition is especially meaningful because it comes from IT professionals who understand the technology and know what to expect from a communications provider. Their strong endorsement gives businesses another reason to put Ooma at the top of their list when evaluating VoIP.”
Ooma Office offers an easy-to-use, flexible business communications solution with voice, video, messaging and advanced features designed to give businesses powerful communications capabilities without requiring a large IT staff, helping employees communicate and collaborate from virtually anywhere.
Spiceworks, an IT-focused media and community brand of Ziff Davis, conducted the 2026 Voice of IT survey to examine how standalone VoIP providers rank among IT professionals. Twenty-one VoIP providers were considered, with six receiving enough responses to be included in the published results.
