According to the latest research by Omdia [1] (omdia.tech.informa.com), the company increased its total microcontroller market share to 23.2 percent in 2025 (2024: 21.4 percent), achieving a year-on-year gain of 1.8 percentage points the largest increase among its competitors. Notably, this market share gain was achieved against the backdrop of a slightly declining microcontroller market (-0.3 percent).

Infineon climbed to the top spot in the global microcontroller market for the first time in 2024, after becoming the number one in the specific market for automotive microcontrollers already one year earlier. Furthermore, the acquisition opens additional growth opportunities in emerging IoT fields and physical AI, such as humanoid robotics. AURIX, PSOC and MOTIX™ microcontrollers from Infineon empower humanoid robots to safely perceive, think, and interact with their environment in real-time, facilitating advanced computing, smart actuation and motor control, connectivity, and intelligent edge functions.
Infineon enables the key functional blocks in humanoid robots, supporting customers from concept to mass production across industrial, service, and home applications. Cybersecurity features for future requirements implemented already today
