• Thales has been selected by Cathay Pacific Airways (cathaypacific.com) and HK Express (hkexpress.com) to equip their new Airbus aircrafts with Thales’ leading avionics solutions.
• Cathay Pacific will also equip its A330neos with AVIATOR S, Thales’ cockpit satellite communications (SATCOM) system.
• The selected avionics equipment delivers optimal flight safety, increased operational efficiency, as well as reduced total operating cost and carbon footprint.
This includes Airbus’ new generation Flight Management System (FMS) which is based on Thales’ PureFlyt FMS, Thales’ 5G-Immune Low-Range Radio Altimeter (LRRA) and Head-Up Display (HUD), as well as the Traffic Collision Avoidance System (T3CAS) by ACSS. Cathay Pacific will also equip its A330neos with AVIATOR S, Thales’ cockpit satellite communications (SATCOM) system. This new agreement demonstrates Thales’ commitment to support the development of the Hong Kong-based group with advanced solutions and exceptional levels of service.
Thales’ PureFlyt FMS provides unique functions, an intuitive interface, and high reliability and is used by major airlines worldwide. With its unmatched trajectory computation accuracy and the unique dedicated DIRECT TO (DIR TO) page displaying only relevant information, this future-proof solution optimizes airline operations by reducing pilot workload, air congestion, and fuel consumption.
The integrated T3CAS provides advanced traffic collision alerting capabilities, contributing to improved situational awareness and flight safety. Thales’ advanced Low-Range Radio Altimeters improve flight safety, provide resilience against potential 5G interference, and enhance reliability in today's complex environment in the sky.
Complementing these systems, the HUD enables pilots to access vital flight data without diverting their gaze from outside the cockpit. Cathay Pacific has also chosen AVIATOR S, the cockpit satellite communications (SATCOM) system from Thales, delivering reliable and high-speed communication capability, enhancing connectivity and operational agility.
