The project aims to capture approximately 435,000 tons of CO2 annually from the flue gases of a district heating facility, significantly contributing to Aarhus’ goal of becoming CO2 neutral and Denmark’s broader climate targets.
ANDRITZ has received the notice to proceed with the pre-engineering of the plant. The pre-engineering order will be included in ANDRITZ’s order intake in the second quarter of 2025. The project’s implementation is contingent upon Kredsløb receiving funding from the Danish CCS pool, with a decision expected in 2026.

With ANDRITZ’s extensive experience in plant engineering and the use of proven carbon capture technology, we are confident that we will successfully implement this milestone project and achieve our CO2 reduction targets. By capturing CO2 originating from the combustion of sustainable biomass, Kredsløb (kredslob.dk) will generate permanent carbon removals, which can be used by companies to compensate for hard-to-abate emissions.”
