• The three new projects reinforce the site position as a reference centre within the Alstom Group for the manufacture of Mitrac traction equipment for trains.
• The site is expanding its activities, adding new workshops for equipment maintenance.
These projects involve manufacturing traction systems and converters for 158 trains: 61 commuter trains for Deutsche Bahn (Germany), 39 medium-distance trains for Västtrafik (Sweden), and 85 trains for London Underground’s Central line (United Kingdom).
At the same time, the Alstom Trapaga industrial site is undergoing expansion and diversification, recently opening new workshops for railway equipment maintenance. In December 2024, the factory expanded its activities by incorporating new equipment and machinery for the repair and overhaul of traction converters, power modules, and motor fans.
"These new projects, planned for the next few years, reinforce the workload and strengthen our position within the Group. But they are, above all, the result of the excellent work of the entire Alstom Trapaga team, which has made our levels of quality and competitiveness a global benchmark. We are also proud that the site can expand with new workshops to support our growth," says Diego García, Alstom Trapaga Manging Director.
