ProAmpac, a global leader in flexible packaging, announced today their Elsham, UK facility received the Brand Reputation through Compliance Global Standard (BRCGS) accreditation, the highest level possible awarded to those companies demonstrating compliance in hazard and risk management, hygiene, product safety and quality.
The BRCGS (brcgs.com) is the first to be recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI). By assisting manufacturing sites in providing products that are assured of quality, legally compliant, and authentic, the standard has become the industry benchmark for producers of all packaging applications.
ProAmpac received the highest AA+ rating during an unannounced audit of the Elsham site. In order to achieve the AA+ rating, the Packaging Materials Standard Issue 6, set up by the BRCGS governing body, must be adhered to and witnessed by an on-site auditor during the site visit.
According to Sean Conlin, Operations Director at ProAmpac Elsham,“The employees at our facility prepare the site each day as if there was an audit. Each employee knows their given assignment and performs it every day. Our daily actions helped us achieve the highest AA+ accreditation, which in turn provides value to our customers.”
Emma Barrington, QHSE Manager, stated,“The daily involvement to ensure our site is always prepared for an audit involves many employees including our shift supervisors, along with four key individuals, Dan Conlin, Scott Kelly, Colin Sargent and Tom Ward, who were instrumental in leading the application of all BCRGS standards needed for certification.”
With continued high standards in place, making the site audit-ready at all times, the Elsham team is proud to have achieved a BCRGS AA+ rating.
