Curtiss-Wright’s Defense Solutions division today announced that its PacStar® business, a leading developer and supplier of advanced communications solutions for the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), has completed cryptographic/cybersecurity testing in accordance to the Common Criteria Evaluation and Validation Scheme (CCEVS) for its PacStar 451, PacStar 453 and PacStar 455 rugged, small form factor servers with Cisco Adaptive Security Virtual Appliance (ASAv) 9.12. The successful completion of Common Criteria certification for the PacStar 451/453/455 with Cisco ASAv 9.12 updates PacStar’s existing certification with Cisco ASAv, extending the servers’ full firewall functionality for use in classified networking solutions and enabling customers to obtain or renew an Authorization to Operate (ATO). The combination of these PacStar 400-Series servers with Cisco ASAv delivers a range of rugged, small form-factor networking appliances for use as a traffic filtering firewall and VPN gateway. These solutions are optimal for a wide variety of tactical and expeditionary use cases that require network protection and encryption of data-in-transit including use in classified networks protected by commercial solutions.
“As high-speed wireless networks proliferate at the tactical edge of the battlefield, providing network security becomes increasingly critical,” said Chris Wiltsey, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Curtiss-Wright Defense Solutions division. “PacStar and Cisco technologies are widely deployed solutions that together deliver the Common Criteria certified firewall and VPN gateway cybersecurity our customers demand.”
“With the completion of Common Criteria testing for our PacStar 451/453/455 server modules with ASAv 9.12, we further extend our ability to support customers seeking solutions to bring cost-effective, commercial encryption to the battlefield,” said Peggy Miller, Senior General Manager, PacStar Business Unit, Curtiss-Wright Defense Solutions division. “This achievement reflects our ongoing commitment to deliver industry leading CSfC solutions to our customers.”
