Serco Inc., a provider of professional, technology, and management services, announced today that the Company has been awarded a new task order under the GSA Alliant 2 Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract to manage, configure, deploy, sustain, and enhance NexGen IT program solutions for Air Force (AF) Civil Engineering (CE). The five and half year contract has one-year base period with four option years and a six month extension of service option with a total value of $82.3 million.
The Air Force supports approximately 170 installations worldwide accounting for over 700 million square feet of facilities, more than 500 miles of runways, and some 10 million acres of land managed by approximately 66,000 civil engineers. NexGen IT supports the Air Force Civil Engineering community in its transformation efforts.
The Air Force acquired IBM TRIRIGA, a commercial integrated workplace management system, and has begun the process to convert all AF installations to IBM TRIRIGA by 2023. The new system modernizes several Air Force legacy Civil Engineering IT systems including the Automated Civil Engineering System (ACES). NexGen IT is critical to the mission success and provides the civil engineering airmen with reliable up-to-date information needed to prioritize projects, validate funding, and support the entire asset management life cycle.
This new task order will be the largest implementation of IBM TRIRIGA in the world. Serco will be performing the majority of the work from the Gunter Annex at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery Alabama.
As the NexGen IT Service Provider, Serco will be responsible for successful configuration, software development, fielding, deployment, operations support, and sustainment of the IBM TRIRIGA-based solution in a cloud environment. Services to be performed by Serco include:
• Oversee Program Management;
• Configure, validate, test and deploy software;
• Provide systems engineering, configuration management, application support, update and release management, and data management;
• Migrate to cloud computing environment;
• Establish, maintain, and manage the NexGen IT Service Desk;
• Provide system web services.
Serco provides full lifecycle facilities and asset management solutions, utilizing IBM TRIRIGA, to numerous U.S. Federal Government agencies, higher education universities, state and local, and commercial entities.
“We are pleased to have been selected by the Air Force to deliver a NexGen IT system that provides the war fighter better technology, reduced program sustainment costs, and higher system reliability,” said Dave Dacquino, Serco’s Chairman and CEO. “Our Workforce and Facilities Management Solutions Practice team has extensive experience utilizing IBM TRIRIGA for our clients and understand the critical importance of providing the Civil Engineering Airmen with accurate real-time data necessary to make important strategic decisions and efficiently manage Air Force resources.”
