CIMIC Group’s mineral processing company, Sedgman (sedgman.com), has been awarded a contract by Nevada Copper, Inc. (nevadacopper.com) for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of the Pumpkin Hollow Copper concentrator and associated infrastructure in Nevada, USA (the ‘’EPC Contract’’).
The EPC Contract will generate revenue to Sedgman of approximately US$118 million1 over the next 18 months.
CIMIC Group Chief Executive Officer Michael Wright said: “This contract is a further demonstration of Sedgman’s considerable expertise in the metals processing sector and its ability to deliver value for clients globally.”
Sedgman Managing Director Grant Fraser said: “We are pleased to be able to provide Nevada Copper with the certainty of an EPC solution for the concentrator and surface facilities at Pumpkin Hollow.
“By providing technical expertise during the feasibility, value engineering and front end engineering design phase of the project, we have been able to develop fit for purpose capital works that meet Nevada Copper’s expectations.”
The project comprises design, civil, structural, mechanical, piping, electrical and commissioning works for the 5,000 tonnes per day concentrator. The site is located 80km from Reno in Lyon County, Nevada, USA.
Work will transition from the existing Interim Services Agreement to the EPC contract in September 2018.
