PCL won the award for transforming how technology is used in the construction industry. By eliminating an entire on-site data center and migrating it to the cloud, the team focused on delivering mobile solutions that allow data-driven decisions to be made about a construction project’s schedule, quality, safety, and financial performance.
“As we continue to push the limits of technology in our industry, our sight is set on adopting a digital-first mindset focused on field solutions,” said Mark Bryant, chief information officer, PCL Construction. “We are transforming our business by enhancing our time to market, reducing costs, improving safety, and driving Lean construction practices for greater productivity.”
Driving operational excellence is critical not only for PCL, but for our customers. Field technology has enabled better collaboration between project teams and clients by providing data-driven insights into how a project is progressing.
“Getting information to the on-site teams who are delivering the work is imperative,” said Chris Gower, COO, Buildings, PCL Construction. “Having mobile technology in the hands of our superintendents, project managers, field engineers, and field coordinators allows them to have instant access to information to properly construct the project, which avoids delays and ultimately delivers better value to our customers.”
