Alstom and NTL (translohr.com) presented their 100% electric mobility solution, Aptis, to Violeta Bulc, European Commissioner responsible for transport, Karima Delli, President of the European Parliament's Committee on Transport and Tourism, Dominique Riquet, Vice-President of the European Parliament’s Committee on Transport and Tourism, as well as Wim Van de Camp, Member of the EU Parliament and Catherine Trautmann, Vice-President and Councillor at Eurometropole, in front of the European Parliament in Strasbourg.

This presentation took place in the context of proposals made by the European Commission on 8 November 2017 for cleaner mobility. This package includes a revision of the Clean Vehicles Directive, the aim of which is to stimulate the market for low- and zero-emission vehicles, including buses, by setting purchasing targets to be achieved by 2025 and 2030 during the award of public contracts in each Member State.

The Commissioner and the elected officials present had the opportunity to discover the vehicle and its advantages in terms of sustainable mobility, thanks to its 100% electric propulsion and its easy insertion in the city.

This event was also an occasion to spotlight local expertise, because the Aptis prototypes, a solution co-developed by Alstom and NTL, are manufactured on the NTL site in Duppigheim (Bas-Rhin). As well as Duppigheim, four other Alstom sites in France have also contributed to the manufacturing of these prototypes: Saint-Ouen for design, systems integration, and project management, Tarbes for traction, Ornans for motors, and Villeurbanne for powertrain electronics.
