Curtiss-Wright’s Defense Solutions division today announced that it was selected by a leading prime contractor to provide its innovative rugged airborne processing system technology for use on a defense platform. The mission computer features Curtiss-Wright’s industry leading open architecture COTS modules, including the CHAMP-XD2M digital signal processor (DSP) module. In addition the system will feature industry-leading NVIDIA® GPU-based processing and video capture modules. The initial contract is valued at $3 million. The potential lifetime value of the contract is estimated at $6 million. Under the contract, development, which commenced in March 2017, will continue until December 2018, with the production phase beginning shortly after.

Curtiss-Wright will manufacture the products covered by this agreement at its facility in Santa Clarita, Calif.
