JDA Software Group, Inc. today announced that Europris, a Norwegian chain of 240 discount stores, has selected JDA® Floor Planning and JDA Category Knowledge Base to extend its JDA Category Management footprint, tying together already deployed JDA Space Planning with JDA Floor Planning and JDA Category KnowledgeBase to create a central store repository for both planograms and store layouts.
Based in Fredrikstad, Norway, Europris (europris.no) sells everything from groceries to hardware, giftware, decorative items, kitchenware, textiles, yarn, toys and more. Europris has more than 2,500 employees and more than 28 million paying customers shop in their 240 stores annually. Europris went public on the Norwegian stock exchange in June 2015. 2016 results showed a net gross turnover of NOK 5.5 billion. Europris needed to automate its space planning process through one common space repository for both planograms and layouts. In addition, it required increased control of store layouts while optimizing allocation between departments and categories within each store.
“We have been using JDA Space Planning since 2014 and needed to expand that footprint to include JDA Floor Planning for a complete picture into planograms across our stores, in tandem with in-store layouts,” said Space Manager Fredrik Wessel at Europris. “JDA was a natural choice for extending our category management deployment and we look forward to the ability to refresh layouts more often, particularly seasonally, while giving us a macro view into store performance so we can be more nimble in adjusting our offerings to meet the ‘me commerce’ era of today’s consumers.”
In addition to the ability to create more sophisticated planograms for its stores, JDA Category Knowledge Base will serve as the data repository to manage the huge information volume from all of Europris’ stores, empowering planners to make fact-based decisions when creating planograms and store layouts. This will also allow Europris to automate data integration and seamlessly connect the planogram and floor planning process together. Moreover, JDA Floor Planning will allow Europris to better manage store layouts and macro space allocation in order to increase space productivity within its stores.
“As the role of the store is changing, assortments and layouts need to be refreshed much more frequently, and due to more seasonality, it has become more and more important to have an efficient process of controlling both micro and macro space. At the same time, space productivity and store layouts needs to be managed and optimized at a more granular store specific level,” said Franck Lheureux regional vice president, sales, EMEA, JDA. “We are pleased to support Europris in its expanded JDA footprint as they look to centralize store planning from floor to shelf across its 240 stores.”
