PRZOOM - /newswire/ - San Diego, CA, United States, 2017/01/16 - PCL Construction Services, Inc. has been awarded design and preconstruction services for the Tula Conference Center at San Diego State University (SDSU) leading to a guaranteed maximum price (GMP) valued at $20M - PCL.com​​​.

The scope of work includes demolishing the existing Tula Conference Center as well as the associated student housing amenity space. The new 12,000-square-foot Tula Conference Center will feature an indoor/outdoor design with retractable entry walls, operable partitions, and food service.The space will be replaced in the same area of campus at the existing center, with improved connectivity to the current outdoor social and recreational spaces, including an existing pool that remains in operation throughout the project.

PCL has previously built the SDSU Aztec Aquaplex and renovated the KPBS (Public Broadcasting Service) Newsroom on the campus.

The project is currently in design and preconstruction stages with construction scheduled to start in May 2017. The conference center is scheduled for completion in July 2018.​
