Infor, a leading provider of beautiful business applications specialized by industry and built for the cloud, today announced certification by the US Department of Commerce for the new EU-US Privacy Shield framework. Infor received the certification on September 30, 2016.
Privacy Shield, which is the successor to the previous US-EU Safe Harbor Framework, provides a mechanism for compliance with European privacy laws with regard to the international transfer of personal data for commercial purposes. Because Infor filed for certification before the early registration deadline of September 30, 2016, the company's existing contracts and subcontracts were immediately brought into compliance under the Privacy Shield Framework.
"The ability to quickly and securely move data across borders is critical for Infor to enable our customers to reap the dramatic benefits of our investments in cloud computing and data analytics. Through Privacy Shield, we are able to provide those benefits while ensuring compliance with Europe's stringent regulations on the handling of personal data," said Pam Murphy, chief operating officer of Infor.
