Mates Cosmetics, announced today that it has been approved by the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) organization as a company that provides only cruelty-free products that are not tested on animals. Additionally, PETA is including Color Mates Cosmetics. in its "Caring Consumer Project"-a database of the animal-testing policies of companies that meet PETA's cruelty-free and vegan criteria in an effort to raise consumer awareness.

PETA's Leaping Bunny approval gives retailers and consumers alike, further assurances that Color Mates Cosmetics products are cruelty-free. PETA recently polled its mailing list of e-news subscribers about their consumer habits and 96 percent of those who responded agreed that they are more likely to purchase a product designated as cruelty-free by PETA. Testing beauty care products on animals often involves blinding and poisoning rabbits, guinea pigs and other animals.
