In partnership with its customer Tideway, Advanced has been shortlisted for the BCS and Computing’s annual UK IT Industry Awards 2016 in Project Excellence, in the category of ‘Best Use of Cloud’.

The partnership between Tideway and Advanced began when Tideway chose Advanced's cloud solution to manage the IT infrastructure underpinning Thames Tideway Tunnel. The £4.2 billion, 25 kilometre 'super sewer' is the largest construction project ever undertaken by the UK water industry and will help tackle the 39 million tonnes of untreated sewage historically discharged into the tidal Thames in an average year. Advanced (oneadvanced.com) now provides a portfolio of 24/7 mission-critical managed services across all core business applications as well as service desk and cloud hosting, including associated mobile and tablet devices.

Not only has the project been completed on time and within budget, Tideway is already benefitting from the implementation of both the Advanced platform-as-a-service (PaaS) environment as well as a full desktop-as-a-service roll-out to over 400 end users to drive project excellence.
