“Our commitment to sustainability goes beyond sustainable construction,” said Shaun Yancey, president and COO, US Operations. “We need to continually recognize the importance of operating with minimal environmental impact and maximizing economic and social benefits throughout our districts, jobsites, and communities.”
The rankings, published in the August 15 edition of ENR, are compiled using a green building survey that ranks contractors based on contracting revenue from projects registered or actively seeking certification from third-party rating groups. This year, PCL generated approximately $1.1 billion in green building revenue. The most prominent sustainable-design standard in the US continues to be the US Green Building Council (USGBC)’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) program.
Waiea, the luxury residential tower in Honolulu, Hawaii, which is targeting LEED® Gold certification, contributed to PCL’s ENR ranking. The project is scheduled for completion in October 2016.
