Pensacola, FL, United States, 2005/09/25 - Looking to spice up the palates of hungry patrons with a love for great tasting chicken wings, Wingstop Restaurants, Inc. opened its first Pensacola, Fla. location on Sept. 8..
Anne Taylor, owner of Wings Over Emerald Coast, Inc., opened the location in the Wal-Mart Shopping Center at 4600 Mobile Highway, Suite 6 (Mobile and Fairfield intersection).
This is Taylor’s first Wingstop, but she has plans to open several additional locations.
“My husband and I are originally from Texas and dined at the Wingstop in Texarkana frequently,” said Taylor. “We were looking for a new venture and were impressed by the quality and freshness of the wings and knew that Wingstop would be a hit in Pensacola.”
The new Wingstop is open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to midnight. Orders can be phoned in to the new location at (850) 458-6100.
Wingstop offers restaurants with a nostalgic, aviation-themed atmosphere where the sole focus is on chicken wings. The chain features nine proprietary wing flavors, including Original Hot, Cajun, Atomic, Mild, Teriyaki, Lemon Pepper, Hawaiian, Garlic Parmesan, and our brand new Hickory Smoked BBQ. The wings are always made-to-order and served steaming hot. Customers also choose from homemade side dishes: fresh-cut seasoned fries, bourbon baked beans, pearl potato salad, creamy cole slaw, vegetable sticks, rolls and assorted dipping sauces.
Wingstop has more than 400 restaurants either open or under development in 25 states and consistently tops industry growth rankings. In 2004, Wingstop was ranked the number one chicken wing chain by Entrepreneur magazine and number four in Restaurants & Institutions’ Top 400 Sales-Growth Leaders (the only wing chain in the top ten). In July 2005, Wingstop ranked number 13 in Restaurant Business’ Top 50 Growth Chains (ranked by percentage increase in units). Troy Aikman, former Dallas Cowboy and three-time Super Bowl champion, signed on as the chain’s national spokesman in 2003.
