Eurotech’s strong commitment to open and industry standards in general and open source in particular has led to the company’s decision to open source the core functionality of its successful Everyware Cloud IoT Integration Platform.

In its latest press release the Eclipse Internet of Things (IoT) Working Group, hosted at the Eclipse Foundation, is announcing besides new releases for several successful open source IoT projects, including Eclipse Kura 2.0, and Eclipse Paho 1.2, Eclipse SmartHome 0.8 and Eclipse OM2M 1.0 a new open source project proposal initiated by Eurotech named Kapua.

With Kapua the goal is to create a modular integration platform for IoT devices and smart sensors, that is bridging Operation Technology with Information Technology. Eclipse Kapua focuses on managing edge IoT nodes like gateways. The IoT Integration Platform addresses all main aspects of managing an IoT infrastructure including their connectivity, configuration, and embedded application life cycle. It also allows to aggregate real-time data streams from the edge, archive them, or route them towards enterprise IT systems and applications.
