To better meet the need for biocompatible grafts with good osteoconductive properties, Leader Biomedical has launched the OssGro® range of synthetic grafts to complement its existing eTiss® line of human allografts used for spine, trauma, and orthopaedic indications. The company will also enter the sports medicine market with the X-grip® anterior cruciate ligament (ACL)reconstruction system.
OssGro® relies on the proven combination of hydroxyapatite (HA) and Beta Tricalcium Phosphate (βTCP) to achieve a highly regulated resorption rate, mimicking real bone formation. Optimal micro- and macro porosity is achieved through a sophisticated process of synthesis, the use of a high-quality porogen, and controlled sublimation and sintering. The result is a line of highly osteoconductive grafts, ideal for cell colonisation and the free flow of interstitial fluids. The easy to handle OssGro® product range further simulates the formation of new bone through the release of calcium and phosphate ions and is easily able to absorb osteogenic proteins.
Benefiting from the same cutting edge technology used in the production of OssGro®; the X-grip® system includes a screw and optional affix sheath, which can be used to attach an autograft, or eTiss® allograft, tendon to the tibia and femur during ACL reconstruction surgeries.
Leader Biomedical’s new orthobiologics portfolio now includes: OssGro® granules, OssGro® sticks, OssGro® wedges, OssGro® Strip, X-grip® screw, X-grip® sheath, and Ossfinity®. Ossfinity® is a resorbable hydrogel putty with hydroxyapatite (HA) and Beta Tricalcium Phosphate (βTCP), that acts as a carrier for rapid vascularisation and mineralisation. OssGro® Strip is composed of highly purified Type 1 porcine collagen for optimal handling and containment.
To learn more about this new product range, we invite attendees to stop by the AAOS Annual Meeting - Booth #4077 (Hall WB) March 2-4, 2016.
