ATEN International Co., Ltd, the leading provider of IT connectivity and management solutions, today announced the release of its KN8 Series, the company’s 4th generation KVM over IP switches. The KN8 Series delivers twice the virtual media speed of other models in its class, boosting the productivity of routine IT operations such as software patching.

ATEN’s KN8 Series features improved video quality, security and virtual media transmission. Thanks to the integration of a new, more powerful FPGA graphics processor that provides optimum high-definition (HD) video output, local and remote consoles can display a server’s UI at 1920 x 1200 HD resolution. By ensuring that video performance is smooth and lag-free and that static graphics are sharp and vivid, these improvements are especially beneficial to audiovisual-intensive applications in broadcast and post-production industries.
The KN8 Series implements strict security standards (FIPS 140-2 compliant) which provide secure remote authentication and access that meet U.S. federal government information security mandates.
