Windstream, a leading provider of advanced network and cloud communications, today announced the launch of its Fixed Wireless technology solution in Cleveland, Oh. This solution provides carrier-grade Ethernet and Internet-over-Ethernet connectivity delivered by digital microwave technology, and is currently offered in Chicago, Ill., New York, N.Y., Northern New Jersey, N.J., Milwaukee, Wis., Boston, Mass, and Philadelphia, PA.

Windstream’s Fixed Wireless supports Ethernet Virtual Private Line (EVPL) or Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) networks with Quality of Service (QoS) and delivers scalable bandwidth for speeds up to 1Gps, as well as terrestrial diversity. With the use of digital microwave technology, Windstream externally installs a microwave radio on rooftops of business buildings and beams transmissions from one radio to another, delivering fast, reliable and secure business-grade Internet that does not interfere with buried utilities.
Backed by Windstream’s Enterprise Data Service Level Agreement (SLA), 24x7 Network Operations Center (NOC) monitoring and field technician service, Windstream’s Fixed Wireless solution is the next generation of Ethernet and Internet networking, offering benefits such as:
