Beckwood Press Company, a hydraulic press manufacturer based in Fenton, Missouri, has been using abas ERP since 2012 to help them efficiently create custom manufactured parts for hydraulic presses.

With the Solidworks plug-in, engineers can create parts and complete Bill of Materials (BOMs) directly in abas so they don’t have to duplicate their work and re-key the BOM structure. This provides a faster and more efficient process, leaving less room for the errors that occur when users need to manually transfer information into their ERP system.
“The Solidworks plug-in has become crucial to our business as it saves a tremendous amount of time for the engineer,” said Shroeder. “With the push of a button, the work is loaded straight into abas, where purchase order and work order suggestions are automatically created.”
To further improve business efficiency, Beckwood also customized an estimating component in abas ERP to help them generate quotes. The estimator takes pre-made estimated BOMs of common sub-assemblies that use up-to-date cost information from the system, and couples it with sales formulas to generate a quote. This streamlines the estimating process and ensures that current cost data is being used.
