Headquartered in Lynnwood, WA, GTS Distribution announced this past week that it has entered into an agreement to be the exclusive U.S. hobby distributor for 2015 Donruss Football cards. GTS Distribution formed a strategic partnership with trading card manufacturer Panini America of Irving, Texas to secure the exclusive distribution rights to what is expected to be a big hit with NFL trading card collectors.
GTS Distribution Vice President of Sales, David Reel expressed why this arrangement was a good fit. “The job of every distributor is to bring value to the (trading card) manufacturer. With our marketing capabilities and numerous distribution channels, it was a situation where everything aligned in a manner to make it a win-win for each company.”
“The Donruss brand has a rich history in the category and is an important part of the Panini lineup. We’re happy to partner with GTS to bring Donruss to the hobby channel,” said Panini Director of Hobby Sales Kevin Haake.
The debut of 2015 Donruss Football from Panini America is scheduled for release at hobby shops across the country September 2nd, 2015.
The partnership between manufacturers and distributors in the hobby has never been more important. By building these relationships, collectors benefit in the form of easy access to product, better education and most importantly, exclusive content.
Retailers in turn benefit by seeing an increase in store traffic and a growing interest by, not only existing collectors, but returning and non-collectors in today’s product offerings. By investing in these types of partnerships, GTS contributes to the health of the hobby and exhibits a commitment to retailers in a way few other distributors can.
Recently, at the 2015 National Sports Collectors Convention, GTS Distribution’s Vice President of Sales, David Reel, discussed how these strategic partnerships came to fruition and their impact on the hobby market and their benefit for collectors.
