Pro Bono Partnership has announced that Richard H. Walker has been elected to its Board of Directors. Mr. Walker is General Counsel and Member of the Group Executive Committee for Deutsche Bank. Prior to joining Deutsche Bank, he served as Director of the Division of Enforcement of the United States Securities and Exchange Commission. He is a Trustee Emeritus of The American Folk Art Museum and Co-Chair of The American Friends of Bucerius Law School.

Dick is committed to supporting in-house counsel bridge the access to justice gap, in keeping with the Partnership’s charter. His stature as Deutsche Bank’s General Counsel will help the Partnership engage in-house counsel from the financial industry into this important effort,” said Mark Nordstrom, the Partnership’s Board Chairman and Senior Counsel-Labor & Employment Law, General Electric Company.

Pro Bono Partnership provides free business and transactional legal services to nonprofit organizations serving the disadvantaged or enhancing the quality of life in neighborhoods in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. Substantially leveraging the impact of its in-house legal staff, the Partnership annually recruits and mobilizes hundreds of attorneys from major corporations and law firms to donate their time and expertise on behalf of its nonprofit clients, enhancing their ability to improve conditions in their communities.
Founded in 1997, the Partnership (probonopartner.org) has offices in White Plains, NY; Hartford, CT, and Parsippany, NJ, and has created affiliate organizations in Atlanta, GA and Cincinnati, OH. The Partnership annually addresses the legal needs of 600 charities in the New York tri-state area, while engaging 900 in-house and law firm volunteers to take on pro bono projects for these clients.
