Applied Voice & Speech Technologies, Inc. (AVST), a leading developer of software-based Unified Communications (UC) solutions, has been awarded a five-year extension of its General Services Administration (GSA) Federal Acquisition IT Schedule 70 Contract (GS-35F-0248R). First awarded in 2005 and now extended to 2020, the contract is designed to streamline the procurement process for federal, state and local government customers who acquire AVST's CX-E UC solution.
GSA IT Schedule 70 is the largest, most widely used go-to source for IT technology acquisitions. While new GSA contracts can take months to procure because of strict requirements set forth under federal law, extensions are just as difficult to obtain.
"This important extension allows us to continue offering our UC solutions to thousands of public agencies and departments," said AVST Vice President of Marketing Denny Michael.
More than 1,400 federal, state and local entities and 1,100 educational institutions rely on AVST's CX-E to enhance productivity. CX-E applications available under GSA IT Schedule 70 include unified messaging, personal assistant, speech, voicemail, automated attendant, IVR, and notification.
GSA is one of several government-awarded cooperative purchasing contracts that AVST has in place. Other contracts include CMAS in California, Ohio State Schedule, NY OGS, COSTARS and PEPPM in Pennsylvania.
In a thought leadership blog posted earlier this year, AVST President & CEO Hardy Myers discussed the role of technology in government entities. For more information about AVST's products for government agencies, visit avst.com/government.
