Based on the Sigma ZM5202 the FM5202 is a self-contained RF Transceiver module that takes the RF design effort out of Z-Wave. Designed for easy integration and fast time-to-market, it is ideal for low volume products; prove of concept, market test of products before committing to high volumes design or production.
The module comes with full FCC and IC modular approval and is pre-scanned for CE approval. It has 10 General Purpose I/O’s, a convenient Supply Voltage range of 3.6V to 16V. The extremely low sleep current of the FM5202, typ. 1uA effectively doubles battery life of smart devices relative to its Z-Wave predecessors, opening new possibilities for smart devices, IoT applications, and IR/RF controls.
Two antenna options are offered: PCB Ceramic or U.FL on the same small pcb size: ~ 20mm x 31mm x 5mm.
FortrezZ is also offering the DFM5202 Development board for the FM5202. It integrates with the Sigma Design programmer for easy development and prototyping. It contains a FM5202 Z-Wave Module, external NVM (Flash) Memory, HW interface protection circuitry, LED’s for signaling and debugging.
Now, starting volume production, the FM5202 will be replacing the Z3x module in all FortrezZ products and will be also offered for sale at electronic online distributors like DigiKey. Other interested OEM’s members of the Z-Wave Alliance can purchase the modules directly from FortrezZ, conveniently packaged on Tape & Reel for easy manufacturing.
