PRZOOM - /newswire/ - Warner, NH, United States, 2014/08/08 - New Zealand air compressor company, ATS Pneumatics, recently discovered a problem with one of their customer's manufacturing plants - MadgeTech.com.

Despite the facility having 3 air compressors which supplies compressed air, the facility itself was experiencing a lack of pressure. It was surmised that it was due to an outdated compressors. Phill Ruby, Technical Director of ATS Pneumatics, suggested that before they make any changes to the system, a test should be performed to determine the definitive cause of the low pressure.

ATS Pneumatics installed two MadgeTech PR2000 data loggers to measure pressure in various parts of the plant. One was placed in the main air tank and the other was set up to record the pressure inside the actual plant. They determined that because of the undersized dryer and filtration system, the plant's pressure was dropping while trying to keep up with demand during the day. In order to maintain the correct pressure in the plant, a second compressor would be manually started, which would require additional energy.

By analyzing the data collected from the PR2000, ATS Pneumatics was able to correctly identify the compressor that needed to be replaced. After a new machine was brought in, the PR2000's were once again set up and the results suggested positive change.
