Perceptive Software, Inc., today announced that the North Central Texas Council of Governments chose ImageNow® document imaging, document management and workflow software to complement the association's major technology initiative.
NCTCOG is integrating ImageNow with Lawson and a variety of other business applications to provide instant, electronic access to documents and images that support the daily business processes of three member cities — Arlington, Carrollton and Grand Prairie. The project is part of a comprehensive plan to connect the government agencies in these communities by purchasing and sharing common technologies, which NCTCOG is hosting.
"We are committed to making business processes more efficient using technology to its fullest capabilities," said Monte Mercer, NCTCOG director of administration. "ImageNow is one of the tools we are utilizing to accomplish that because of its ease of use and integration with Lawson and other packages."
While reducing costs was the early incentive behind the decision to create a Shared Services Center, improving access to information became the driving force. Because of its portable functionality and patented integration technology, ImageNow satisfies both objectives. NCTCOG can integrate and expand the product quickly and cost-effectively, accommodating the demand for electronic document capture, storage, retrieval and workflow.
"ImageNow will be a time-saver and help build best practices," said Richard Price, NCTCOG director for research and information services. "The cities we are working with all wanted an enterprise document imaging solution."
NCTCOG, a voluntary association of government agencies covering 16 counties surrounding the Dallas-Fort Worth area, developed the progressive business software plan with the future in mind. The organization selected technology that can extend the benefits of the Shared Services Center rapidly to meet the needs of its members.
"Financials, human resources, procurement, reporting and budgeting and planning are the primary focus," said Mercer. "We plan to use ImageNow in these areas and beyond."
North Central Texas Council of Governments joins Perceptive Software's fast-growing list of public sector customers, which includes the following additions: City of Los Angeles; Kansas State Board of Nursing; U.S. House of Representatives; City of Topeka, Kan.; City of Birmingham, Ala.; and Seminole Tribe of Florida.
