Applied Video Imaging, a provider of rugged video products for airborne, ground, and marine surveillance missions, introduced its new D1000 series of rugged multifunction displays. Featuring 1280x768 HD resolution, 16.7M colors, high-contrast, and high-brightness, the D1000 series provides remarkable image clarity and large viewing angles. The light-weight unit (2.32 Kg, 5.1 lbs) has a small footprint and can be used in either portrait or landscape modes.
The D1001 features innovative AR coated full cover Gorilla® glass with Projective Capacitive (PCAP) function controls, direct sunlight readability, 3G-SDI input and output, and a full-featured I/O set including USB, Ethernet, RS-232, RS-422, and RS-485.
Enclosed in a unique heat dissipating and water-tight aluminum 6061 enclosure, the display provides up to four 3G-SDI inputs with up to four 3G-SDI loop-through outputs. Standard or customized button icons provide direct operator functional control for video input selection, brightness control, Day/Night/NVGS mode control, or control of other AVI products such as Quad Processors, Video Switches, and Recorders. Optional features include dual LED NVGS compatible operation, full PCAP touchscreen, LCD heater, and Portrait Mode operation.
The D1000 series delivers optimal viewing of HD video sensors in a small package that easily fits into small cockpit spaces. It can also be used in portrait mode with AVI’s Quad Processor allowing up to three HD images to be displayed at the same time in a space-saving configuration.
“AVI’s new D1000 series of rugged multifunction mission displays is a great addition to our display line and allows our customers to view full SD, HD, and 3-G SDI video sources in a space-saving package,” said Bruce Carriker, President and founder of AVI. “And with AVI’s innovative PCAP button technology in combination with our Open Command Protocol, our customer can fully exploit the capabilities of todays’ EO/IR sensors directly from the display.”
Designed and tested to DO-160 standards, AVI’s rugged 10.6” multifunction displays accepts 9 36 volts DC power. RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, USB, and Ethernet input and output controls are standard. The display is designed for use in airborne, ground, and marine law enforcement and defense surveillance applications. Based on SMPTE industry standards, it can be used with any SDI video source.
