Heartline Fitness Systems has acquired Smyrna, DE-based, David L. Townsend Company (Townsend Repair). Owned by David Townsend, Townsend Repair has been providing commercial fitness equipment repair and maintenance services to the Northeastern United States since 1993. In addition to Delaware, Townsend Repair serves Eastern Pennsylvania, Maryland, and New Jersey.
Townsend Repair is Heartline’s third service company acquisition in the last four years, having purchased Fitness Worx (Virginia Beach, VA) in January, 2010, and BNT Repair Services (Pilesgrove, NJ) in 2012. While Fitness Worx and BNT have helped support Heartline’s Mid-Atlantic market growth, Townsend Repair expands Heartline’s northeast presence by adding four service technicians and some 400 commercial accounts. “We couldn’t be happier with our partnership with Townsend Repair,” says Heartline’s president, Bob Burgess. “Dave has built a reputation based on service excellence.” “It was this excellence that drew us to Townsend Repair and was critical in our partnership discussions.” “At the end of the day, Heartline is a service-driven company.”
