CPA Global, the world’s leading provider of intellectual property (IP) management services and software, announced today that global law firm Dentons has deployed CPA Global’s Inprotech IP management software to help enhance efficiency and service across its fast-growing worldwide IP practice.
Dentons is one of the world’s largest law firms, with approximately 2,600 lawyers and professionals in more than 75 locations, spanning 50-plus countries. The firm was formed in March 2013 by the combination of international law firm Salans LLP, Canadian law firm Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP (FMC), and international law firm SNR Denton.
Based around a single, centralised database, Inprotech enables Dentons to combine the separate patent and trademark systems of its component firms into one core system, thereby maximising efficiency and enhancing client service delivery. As Inprotech is web-based, Dentons staff can directly access the system at any time for example, attorneys can securely log into Inprotech when travelling or working from different offices, without intermediary remote access applications.
Amy Bruns, Dentons’ Regional Manager for IP & Technology Docketing, based in Chicago, said: “The aim was to enhance service, increase efficiency, underpin closer communication and mitigate risk through automation. The technology needed to be web-based to allow staff ‘anytime, anywhere’ access. We also wanted a system that was flexible and future-proofed to meet longer-term goals, such as moving to a paper-light environment.”
