Torrance Memorial Medical Center has selected the Halogen Software Talent Management Suite™ for Healthcare to support its focus on excellence in patient care, improve employee development and training, and drive higher performance. The hospital will leverage the Halogen suite to reinforce its commitment to creating a culture of quality, learning and advancement.
According to the 2012 Healthcare Talent Management Survey1 by Dr. Kevin Groves at Pepperdine University, when healthcare organizations implement a set of best practices, including having senior leadership make talent management a strategic priority, it increases employee productivity and patient satisfaction, and lowers nursing turnover. The Halogen suite will help Torrance Memorial directly connect learning and performance management to increase accountability, improve organizational alignment and support employee development.
“Halogen’s talent management solution was a natural fit for us. It will allow us to focus on our core business of providing industry-leading patient care by allowing managers to easily manage employee performance and development,” says Dedra Ambriz, Director of Compensation and Benefits at Torrance Memorial. “Having a solution that’s tailored to the healthcare industry and used by hundreds of other healthcare facilities also contributed to our decision to go with Halogen.”
The hospital plans to implement the Halogen eAppraisal™ Healthcare, Halogen Job Description Builder™ and Halogen eLearning Manager™ modules in a phased approach.
Because these modules integrate fully and seamlessly, the hospital will be able to centralize employee performance data to make reporting for accreditation purposes easier. It will also make it possible to measure the results of its talent programs through quality measures, such as improved patient satisfaction.
“With a diverse team of HR professionals as well as clinical and non-clinical managers, it was important to get a solution that worked for everyone. Our selection team agreed that the ease of use of Halogen’s talent management solution made it the right choice for us,” says Ambriz. “We’ve been impressed with the Halogen experience at every touch point.”
The award-winning Halogen Talent Management Suite for Healthcare is designed to help healthcare facilities build high performing teams with the right skills, knowledge and competencies to deliver quality patient care. The Halogen eAppraisal Healthcare module is designed to meet the specific talent management needs of healthcare providers, and has earned the exclusive endorsement of the American Hospital Association for employee performance management.
